Sanjay Manjrekar Opens Up on Sarfaraz Khan Batting Order: The third test match is being played between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. New Zealand, which is leading 2-0 in this Test series, is now moving towards a clean sweep in the series. A lot of changes were seen in the batting of the Indian team on the second day of the third match. After the fall of Rishabh Pant’s wicket during the second day’s play, Ravindra Jadeja was sent to bat in place of Sarfaraz Khan. It is believed that the team took this step to maintain the right-left combination, but Manjrekar did not understand this strategy at all.
Sanjay Manjrekar angry over sending Sarfaraz to number 8
Sanjay Manjrekar called this change in Sarfaraz Khan’s batting order absurd considering his current form. He said that Sarfaraz is in great form at the moment and he scored 150 runs in the first test. Manjrekar also said that Sarfaraz is considered a skilled batsman against spin bowling, hence sending him down the order is a strange and unnecessary decision.
Sanjay Manjrekar wrote on his social media account This decision is incomprehensible to India at number 8. This statement of Manjrekar has raised questions on the strategy of team management.
A guy in form, has 3 fifties in his first 3 Tests, gets 150 in the Bangalore Test, a good player of spin, pushed back in the order to keep left & right combination?? Makes no sense. Sarfraz now walking in at no 8! Poor call by India.

Sarfaraz could not show his talent
After this change in the batting order, Sarfaraz Khan was out without scoring any runs in the first innings. Sarfaraz lost his wicket within four balls due to playing a wrong shot on the ball of New Zealand bowler Ajaz Patel. His unsuccessful innings also strengthens Manjrekar’s argument that it was a wrong decision to send an in-form batsman so low.
