When is the last date for taxpayers to get audited?
Many taxpayers who get audited have to first file the audit report and then deposit the tax along with the audit report. If taxpayers lag behind or fail to submit the audit report, the penalty imposed on them can go up to Rs 1.5 lakh. Therefore, today taxpayers have got 7 more days to do this work so that they can file the audit report on time. Now the Income Tax Department has extended its last date. This decision has been taken under sub-section (1) of Income Tax Act 139.
