Mahavir Phogat reaction on Vinesh Phogat going into politics: Wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who was disqualified for being 100 grams overweight in the 2024 Paris Olympics, is contesting on a Congress ticket in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Now uncle Mahavir Singh Phogat’s reaction has come on her decision to join politics. Mahavir is not happy with Vinesh joining politics. He said that it is my personal opinion that she should participate in the 2028 Olympics. My dream is to win a gold medal.
Mahavir Phogat, uncle of Congress candidate from Julana, Vinesh Phogat, said, “She performed very well in the Paris Olympics, but was disqualified in the final. It is my personal opinion that she should participate in the 2028 Olympics. The gold medal is my dream, I did not get it, but the people of India gave her a lot of love and people expected a gold medal from her. Due to which people were saddened, but everyone including me expected that not this time but in 2028 she will bring the gold medal. I am saddened by the decision she has taken to enter politics. It would have been better if she had taken this decision after the 2028 Olympics.”
Vinesh missed out on winning the gold medal
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who staged a sit-in protest in Delhi before the Paris Olympics, performed brilliantly in the 50kg category in the 2024 Olympics. First, Vinesh defeated the world champion. After this, she also registered brilliant victories in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. After this, she was considered a strong contender to win the gold medal. However, before the final, she missed out due to being 100 grams overweight.
