Vinesh Phogat Disqualification From Olympics: Vinesh Phogat, a name that was moving towards getting India its first gold medal in Paris Olympics 2024. But as soon as the news of her disqualification came on Wednesday, the whole of India was shocked. Big celebrities have expressed anger towards this news. Now coach Jabar Singh Som, who has been training wrestling in Meerut for a long time, has given a big statement on this subject.
Tell me why your weight increased?
Coach Jabar Singh says that Vinesh Phogat used to be overweight earlier and she lost about 13 kg and started participating in the 50 kg category. Explaining the reason, coach Jabar said that it often happens with athletes who lose a lot of weight that eating something at night increases their weight and then it does not reduce even after tireless efforts. According to him, something similar has happened with Vinesh as well.
Jabar Singh has been training wrestling in Meerut for 40 years and he knows very well the fighting spirit of Vinesh Phogat and she will leave this difficult time behind and perform well in the next championship. The coach says that now nothing can be done about Vinesh’s disqualification in the Paris Olympics because the rules of wrestling are very strict.
The appeal will be dismissed!
Regarding Vinesh’s disqualification, the Wrestling Federation of India had appealed to the United World Wrestling (UWW) to give Vinesh some time. But UWW President Nenad Lalovic says that the rules have been made for a reason and they apply to everyone. He said that he has no problem with India’s appeal but the rules cannot be put at stake for a single athlete.
