Girls Will Be Girls Review: Ali Fazal has now become an international star. The story of Guddu Bhaiya of Mirzapur has reached from country to abroad. He has proved what an amazing actor he is, no one has ever doubted Richa Chadha’s acting. They hold a different place for themselves in the industry, now when both of them became producers and made their first film with the producers, it was not expected that it would be so amazing. Yes, good content is always expected from these two but they adopted a back to basic formula and made amazing cinema. This film has received praise in different film festivals, crowds have gathered to watch it and now it has come on Amazon Prime.
Story
Meera i.e. Preeti Panigrahi is the head prefect of her school. It is his job to keep the children in discipline. Mr. Keshav Binoy comes to study in their school from abroad, and Meera starts liking Keshav. Meera’s mother Anila i.e. Kani Kasruti wants her daughter to concentrate only on studies. The relationship between mother and daughter is also not very good. Shree also becomes friends with Meera’s mother, then what shape does the relationship between Meera and Shree take and how does the mother-daughter relationship progress. This film shows teenage romance very beautifully.
how is the movie
This film is amazing, if you were born in the 90s then this film will take you to that era because this is the story of that era when mobiles had not come and romance based on missed calls continued. This film is quite simple and this is its strength. Some stories are simple and good, some do not like the forcefulness in them. This story is also similar, you will remember your era and even if you are not of that era, you will relate to this story. You will see such stories around you, its characters seem very convincing. The film moves at its own pace which is absolutely right. There is teenage romance in the film and there are some scenes which you can call bold but perhaps it was not possible to show teenage romance without those scenes. This film also beautifully shows the relationship between mother and daughter and tells that parents should become friends of their children in adolescence and should understand them.
acting
The strongest link of this film is its actors who have done an amazing job. Kani Kushruti has done a very good job in the role of Meera’s mother. His character has been written amazingly and he has played it equally amazingly. Seeing them will remind you of your mother in your teenage years. Seeing the way Preeti has played the character of a teenage girl, it did not seem that she is a new actress. If actors like him come to films with this preparation, then it would be fun. She has completely lived up to the trust that Ali Fazal and Richa reposed in her. Keshav Binoy Kiran’s work is also brilliant, a boy who makes everyone his fan with his words. Such boys are often found in our schools and colleges and Keshav has played this character with great enthusiasm.
Direction and writing
Shuchi Talati has written and directed the film and is the hero of this film. Both his writing and direction are perfect. Teenage romance probably cannot be shown in a better way than this. Her grip on the film remained strong and she was completely successful in saying what she wanted to say.
Overall, such cinema should be seen so that producers like Ali and Richa make more such good cinema.
