Mohsin Naqvi On Gary Kirsten: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made a big allegation against Gary Kirsten. Mohsin Naqvi said that Gary Kirsten has violated the contract by terminating his tenure. Recently, former South African player Gary Kirsten had resigned from the post of head coach of Pakistan cricket team. It is believed that there was a rift between the Pakistan Cricket Board and Gary Kirsten. After which Gary Kirsten decided to resign from his post. Although, no official statement has come from Gary Kirsten till now, but Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that Gary Kirsten has terminated his contract with PCB.
Mohsin Naqvi said that Gary Kirsten has violated the rules by breaking his contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board. There was no initiative from our side, they terminated the contract with us. Apart from this Mohisan Naqvi did not say anything. At the same time, Pakistan Cricket Board has not given the reason for the sudden resignation of Gary Kirsten, but it is being claimed in media reports that Gary Kirsten’s opinion was not sought on the squad and new captain for the Australia and Zimbabwe tours. After which Gary Kirsten decided to resign.
According to sources associated with the Pakistan Cricket Board, Gary Kirsten has violated his contract by not spending enough time in Pakistan. It is also being said that Gary Kirsten was insisting on having a complete foreign coaching staff. Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that the process of finding a new head coach has started. Till now, discussions have been held with about 4-5 potential candidates on this issue. Mohsin Naqvi said that Jason Gillespie is focusing only on the Test format. Therefore, the name of the new coach will soon be approved for the ODI and T20 formats.
