Rashid Latif on Babar Azam: The second Test is being played between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Pakistan, led by Shan Masood, had to face defeat in the first Test. After this, many questions were raised on the Pakistani batsman. Former players took Babar Azam and other batsmen to task. At the same time, Babar Azam’s flop show continued in the second Test as well. Former Pakistani captain Babar Azam was out after scoring 31 runs off 77 balls in the first innings of the second Test. While in the second innings, he went to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs off 18 balls. This poor form has also caused damage in the ICC rankings. Now Babar Azam has slipped to number 9 in the rankings.
Now former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif has made a big statement on Babar Azam’s mind. Rashid Latif said that Babar Azam’s mind is not calm, he is like Virender Sehwag, whose form once gone, comes back with great difficulty. He said that Babar Azam’s focus is not on the game, he is paying attention outside, his shot selection has gone bad. Due to T20 and ODI format, you have started hitting more shots. He also said that Babar Azam is not able to understand the Test format, his mind is not working.
Rashid Latif further says on Babar Azam’s poor technique and form that he is practicing wrongly. All of them practice with the late arm, there is a delay of 2 nanoseconds in this arm. Apart from this, Rashid Latif gave the example of technique. He said that Sachin Tendulkar’s technique was very good, he used to be in bad form, but would soon get out of it. But Virender Sehwag was not able to do this. When Virender Sehwag’s bad form started, it used to last long. The same is happening with Babar Azam.
