Sourav Ganguly on Gautam Gambhir Criticism: After Gautam Gambhir became the head coach, the Indian cricket team has lost two big series. First the 0-2 defeat in the ODI series against Sri Lanka and then the 0-3 defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the Test series has raised many questions. Now coach Gautam Gambhir is facing the challenge of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025 (BGT 2024). In this, five test matches are to be played between India and Australia. Now on one hand Gambhir is being criticized, on the other hand former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has come out in his support.
In a media interview, Sourav Ganguly has said that Gautam Gambhir will remain as he is. It is not right to judge them so quickly after losing an ODI and a Test series. Ganguly said, “I would like to say that Gambhir should be left to his own devices. I saw that what he said in the press conference was criticized a lot. He is like this because KKR won the IPL title, Gambhir was like this even then. Then you started praising him. He lost three Test matches and one ODI series to Sri Lanka.
Gautam Gambhir did nothing wrong
Australian legend Ricky Ponting had expressed concern before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy that Virat Kohli’s form is a matter of concern. When Gautam Gambhir was asked a question in this regard in the press conference, he said that Ricky Ponting needs to pay more attention to the Australian team instead of Indian cricket.
Giving his views on this controversy, Sourav Ganguly said, “Gambhir, why not do this? Ever since I have been watching cricket, Australian players have been giving their own views on cricket, be it Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting or There is nothing wrong with what Gambhir said, so we should give him a chance since it has been 2-3 months.
