Economic Survey 2024: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the pre-budget document i.e. Economic Survey in Parliament on 22 July, just before the budget. Just before the budget session of Parliament, Prime Minister Modi said that this is a moment of great pride for the country because this is the first time in the last 60 years that a government has come to power for the third consecutive time. In such a situation, ‘I would like to give full assurance to the people that we are going to present this budget to fulfill our goal.’ PM Modi termed the upcoming budget as an important budget for ‘Amrit Kaal’. Along with this, he said that this budget will play an important role in achieving our goal i.e. ‘Developed India’.
These six areas will have to be given maximum attention- Economic Survey
In the Economic Survey, it has been said to focus on a total of six sectors for development during Amrit Kaal. Let’s know about this.
1. In this survey, emphasis has been laid on increasing private investment. With the increase in private sector investment in the country, the country’s economic progress will also accelerate.
2. In this Economic Survey, the need for special emphasis on the growth and expansion of the MSME sector has been highlighted.
3. In this economic survey, agriculture has been described as the third engine of the country. In such a situation, the government has been asked to recognize the potential of agriculture and remove its policy obstacles.
4. This survey also highlights the need for more finance for India’s green transformation.
5. There is a huge gap between education and employment in the country. This has come to light from this economic survey. In such a situation, the government needs to take necessary steps to eliminate this gap.
6. In this survey, emphasis has also been laid on increasing the capacity of the states. According to the Economic Survey, there is a need to increase the capacity and capability of the states to increase the pace of development of the country.
India’s GDP is estimated to be 6.5-7 percent in the financial year 2024-25
This economic survey says that India’s GDP is likely to be between 6.5 percent and 7 percent. At the same time, inflation is estimated to be around 4.5 percent in the current financial year. At the same time, it is estimated to decrease to 4.1 percent in the financial year 2025-26.
Budget will be presented on 23 July
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her first budget for the third term of the Modi government. This budget will be for the financial year 2024-25. She is going to be the first Finance Minister of the country to present the general budget for the seventh consecutive time. This budget will be presented in Parliament at 11 am on Tuesday.
