no money to pay rent
In an interview given to Pranav Chokhani, Devashish told that he is facing financial crisis. He said- I have not earned money from any of my films. I am having trouble paying my rent. I could not earn money from Joharam due to which I became bankrupt. I have not paid rent for the last five months. I am pleading with the landlord to not throw me out of the house.
Devashish also revealed that despite having 20 scripts ready, he is struggling to find producers to invest in his projects. His first directorial feature film, Ajji (2017), which did not have any big stars, was made on a budget of Rs 1 crore. Unfortunately, despite being released in theatres, Ajji only earned Rs 15 lakh at the box office.
