Neeraj Chopra Next Action In Lausanne Diamond League: Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the javelin throw event of Paris Olympics 2024. After winning the silver medal, Neeraj had revealed that he was suffering from a groin problem, due to which he could not give his best in Paris. Now India’s star javelin thrower told about his future plans. He told in which tournament he will be seen playing next.
Let us tell you that Neeraj will be seen in the Lausanne Diamond League starting from August 22. Talking to the media, Neeraj said, “I have finally decided to participate in the Lausanne Diamond League.” This will be Neeraj’s first competition after winning silver in the Paris Olympics 2024.
Why couldn’t you win gold in the Olympics?
During this conversation, Neeraj also talked about his performance in the Olympics. The Indian star threw the javelin 89.45 meters away in the Paris Olympics, after which he finished second. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal by throwing the javelin 92.97 meters away. Pakistan’s Arshad’s throw of 92.97 meters also became an Olympic record.
On the Olympic performance, Neeraj said, “Performing in the Olympics is never easy, especially when you are defending the medal. From there (second throw) I knew I would break the Olympic record but for some reason I was not able to do so because my body did not allow it. I am happy that I won the silver medal for the country, but will work on the things that are necessary to recover well.”
All eyes will be on Neeraj’s 90 meter throw
It is worth noting that Neeraj Chopra has not yet touched the 90 meter javelin throw mark in his career. Neeraj’s personal best is 89.94 meters. Now Neeraj would like to touch the 90 meter mark in the Lausanne Diamond League.
