CT2025 Shoaib Akhtar Insights on Virat Kohli: The dispute between India and Pakistan regarding Champions Trophy 2025 is deepening. Three important questions have arisen regarding the organization of the tournament – Will it be organized in Pakistan? Will it be conducted under hybrid model? Or will it be shifted to some other country? The controversy began when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the Indian team would not tour Pakistan due to security reasons. In response, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made it clear that they will not accept the hybrid model and will stand by their right to host the tournament.
Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar gave his reaction on this issue and said, “There must be talks behind the scenes between India and Pakistan. We should maintain hope. It is a fact that 95-98 percent of ICC sponsorship goes to India. In such a situation some solution will be found.”
Shoaib Akhtar also said, “It all depends on the governments, it has nothing to do with BCI. Virat Kohli wants to play in Pakistan for the first time. Pakistan also wants to see Virat playing in their country. Think, If he scores a century, it will be a special moment in his career. Pakistan has always had the tag that it cannot host big tournaments. However, if this Champions Trophy happens, it will open the way for big events. Me “It still seems unlikely to happen, but fingers crossed and wait.”
Meanwhile, according to sources, continuous talks are going on between ICC and PCB, and the schedule of the tournament can be finalized by the end of this week. It will be interesting to see what is the outcome of this growing dispute between India and Pakistan.
