No Pakistan Name On Indian Jersey: Champions Trophy 2025 is to be hosted by Pakistan. Team India will play all the matches of the tournament in Dubai. However, Pakistan will remain the official host of the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had refused to send the team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, after which the hybrid model of Dubai was adopted for India. Now the report revealed that the name of host Pakistan will not be written on India’s jersey in the tournament.
Let us tell you that during ICC events, the name of the host countries is written on the jerseys of all the teams. West Indies and USA were the host nations in the T20 World Cup played in June 2024. Like all the teams, the names of West Indies and UAS were also written on the jersey of Team India. Similarly, Pakistan is the host of the Champions Trophy, but the report revealed that Pakistan’s name will not be written on India’s jersey.
While talking to news agency IANS, an official of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that BCCI is bringing politics into cricket. Earlier, BCCI had reportedly refused to send captain Rohit Sharma to Pakistan for the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy.
Speaking to the news agency on the condition of confidentiality, the PCB official said, “BCCI is bringing politics into cricket, which is not at all good for the game. They refused to tour Pakistan. They will not allow their captain to attend the opening ceremony. Now there are reports that they do not want the name of the host country (Pakistan) to be written on their jersey. We are sure that the World Governing Body (ICC) will not allow this to happen. Will support.”

It is noteworthy that the Champions Trophy 2025 will start from February 19. Team India will play its first match in the tournament against Bangladesh on 20 February.
