Airpod manufacturing in India: American tech company Apple is planning to manufacture its other products after iPhone in India. The company is now preparing to make AirPod wireless earphones in India. There are expectations that the company will start production of AirPods in India in the first quarter of next year. In India, this scheme is being commanded by Apple’s subsidiary company Foxconn Technology Group. Foxconn will start assembling AirPods in its new plant in Hyderabad. Manufacturing of AirPods is already going on here on the trial base and after the start of production, the pace of manufacturing will be increased.
iPhones are already being made in India
Apple has been manufacturing iPhones in India for the last few years. In fiscal year 2024, 14-15 percent of Apple’s total iPhones were made in India. This number is expected to increase to 26-30 percent by 2027.
After iPhone, the company is now starting the manufacturing of its second product in India with AirPods. This will be the first time that Apple will produce AirPods in India. Actually, there are many reasons behind Apple increasing manufacturing in India. The first reason is that the economic relations between America and China are not good. In such a situation, many companies are shifting their production from China to other countries including India. Secondly, the Government of India is also providing many facilities to the companies to increase manufacturing in the country.
Multiple benefits for Apple
Apple is going to get many benefits from this step. With the start of production in India, its dependence on China will reduce and it will have more than one option for manufacturing. On the other hand, Apple’s market is growing rapidly in India. In such a situation, it will also have a chance to strengthen its footing in this rapidly growing market.
