The couple was madly in love with each other, however Salman and Aishwarya broke up. Later, Aishwarya got married to Abhishek Bachchan and settled down and the couple has a lovely daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. Salman, on the other hand, is still enjoying his single life. At that time, rumours were rife in the industry that Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai had secretly got married. Though there was no confirmation from either side, reports said that it was a Nikaah ceremony. The ceremony, which took place at a bungalow in Lonavala, was conducted by a Qazi from Mumbai. Rumours were that Aishwarya converted to Islam for the wedding, which was attended by her close friends.
Reports also stated that Salman and Ash’s parents did not attend the wedding. Later, rumours were also rife that the couple reportedly went to New York for their honeymoon after the wedding and were spotted together on their return to Mumbai. However, it cannot be denied that Aishwarya’s parents were always against their daughter marrying Salman Khan and the rumours added to their woes. Moreover, the makers of Aishwarya Rai starrer films started worrying about the future of their films when the news of her wedding came out.
Aishwarya reacted to secret wedding rumours with Salman
When Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan’s secret wedding rumours were spreading like wildfire, the actress calmly dismissed the entire matter. During a media interaction, Ash dismissed all those reports and said, “If it had happened, wouldn’t the whole industry know about it? The industry is such a small place, moreover I didn’t get time to spend with my family after my mother’s accident. I am not one of those people who would have proudly announced their wedding to the world if it had happened, but still, where is the time to get married?”
The reason for the breakup of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai
Fans who were dreaming of Salman and Aishwarya’s marriage were shocked when the two broke up. In an old interview with The Indian Express, Aishwarya talked about the problems in her relationship and told what problems she had to face while living with Salman. She mentioned that at her worst, she tolerated Salman’s alcoholic misbehavior and endured verbal, physical and emotional abuse, infidelity and insults. Hence, she decided to end her relationship with him.
