Amitabh Bachchan made his debut with the film ‘Saat Hindustani’ which was a flop. After this, many of his films failed at the box office. The film ‘Zanjeer’ made him a superstar overnight. But after this his company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) went bankrupt.
Amitabh Bachchan was drowned in debt of Rs 90 crore
Amitabh Bachchan’s company was drowned in a debt of Rs 90 crore. It had become difficult for Amitabh Bachchan, who was in debt worth crores, to even get food. This was revealed by Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan himself. In an interview given to Ranveer Allahabadia, he had said that when Big B had borrowed money from the staff. Abhishek Bachchan, who was studying in college in Boston, had also given up his studies.
‘I left my education because…’
Abhishek Bachchan said, truth be told, I had left the university. I was studying at Boston University. I had announced my main subject as Liberal Arts and then I gave importance to Performing Arts. I left my education because my father was going through difficult times financially. He started this business with the name ABCL. I said I couldn’t sit here in Boston when my father didn’t know how he would get dinner.
Ask for money from staff for food
Abhishek further said- How bad it was. He had to borrow money from his staff to put food on the table. I just felt committed to being with them. I called him and said you know papa, I think I want to leave college and come back and just live with you, I will try to help you in every possible way. At least you will know that your son is with you and he is there for you.
