The Chief of the Bangladesh Cricket Board had said that the unrest and riots spreading in the country will not affect the Women’s T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, the Board’s CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhary, while talking to ‘Cricbuzz’, said that the Board is sticking to its plan and is preparing for the tournament.
Nizamuddin Chowdhury said, “Till date, all I know is that we are hosting the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup as planned and we are working keeping this in mind.”

The ICC also put forth its view on Bangladesh hosting the tournament. The International Cricket Council is keeping an eye on what is happening in Bangladesh. An ICC source was quoted in Cricbuzz as saying, “We are keeping a close eye, but the event is still far away. It seems that the situation has improved in the last 24 hours.”
