India vs Pakistan: For the last several days, the Pakistan Cricket Board has been brainstorming about the 2025 Champions Trophy. The PCB is trying to invite India to Pakistan in any way. Meanwhile, the news of the hybrid model and Pakistan losing the hosting of the 2025 Champions Trophy also came to light. However, the ICC is still silent on the whole matter. Currently, the ICC’s annual meeting is going on in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, a big update has come out regarding the T20 series between India and Pakistan.
According to a report by news agency INS, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi may invite India for a T20 bilateral series at a neutral venue in 2025. For this, he will meet BCCI secretary Jay Shah in Sri Lanka today. However, the PCB is adamant on not allowing the Champions Trophy matches to be shifted out of Pakistan.
The agency has written in its report quoting PCB sources that the PCB chief will invite India for a T20 series at a neutral venue during 2025 when he will meet the BCCI secretary. Let us tell you that the ICC’s annual meeting is from 19 to 22 July in Sri Lanka.
The report further quoted a PCB source as saying, ‘The proposal will be discussed during Mohsin Naqvi’s meeting with Jay Shah, with a T20 series likely during the free days of both teams after the Champions Trophy.’ This discussion is going to be an important part of the annual conference.
Well, for your information, let us tell you that the agenda of the ICC meeting does not include holding the Champions Trophy at a neutral venue or negotiating about it. However, till now the BCCI has not officially issued any statement regarding the Champions Trophy.
