Pakistan wins Blind T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan has won the title of Blind T20 World Cup, it has created history by defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the final. This is the first time in history that the Pakistani team has won this title. In this title clash, Bangladesh, playing first, was able to score 139 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, Pakistan won the World Cup title in a historic style by achieving the target in just 11 overs without losing any wicket. For Pakistan, captain Nisar Ali scored unbeaten 72 runs, while Mohammad Safdar supported him well and scored 47 unbeaten runs.
This victory was also memorable for Pakistan because no one could beat them in the entire tournament. Pakistan Blind Cricket Council Chairman Syed Sultan Shah has congratulated his team on this achievement. During the first innings, Pakistani bowler Babar Ali wreaked havoc, taking two wickets for just 24 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, Mohammad Salman and Matiullah took one wicket each.
Till now India had won all the titles
The Blind T20 World Cup tournament was started in the year 2012, after that the Indian team won the World Cup title in 2017 and again in 2022. After scoring a title hat-trick in the Blind T20 World Cup, India could not participate in the tournament this time. Since the Blind T20 World Cup was organized in Pakistan, meanwhile, due to the controversy regarding the Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian government had refused to send its blind team across the border.
Let us remind you that Pakistan had reached the final of the Blind T20 World Cup twice till now. In the 2012 and 2017 editions, they lost to India by 29 runs and 9 wickets respectively. Now in 2024, finally the Pakistani team has succeeded in winning the first title, ending the trend of defeat.
