Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has revealed a big secret and said that if a player gets injured, how can he make a comeback in Team India?
Talking to Times of India, Jai Shah recalled an old incident and told that Ravindra Jadeja had suffered a knee injury during the 2022 Asia Cup. Shah called Jadeja at that time and told him that he would have to play domestic cricket to return to Team India. Due to this, Jadeja played for Saurashtra in the Ranji season at that time and later returned to the Indian team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022.
the rules are strict
Jai Shah said, “We have made some strict rules. When Ravindra Jadeja got injured, I called him and asked him to play domestic cricket. It has now become a rule that any player who goes out due to injury can return to Team India only when he proves his fitness in domestic cricket.”
Why did Virat and Rohit get exemption?
Recently, there were reports of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma playing in the Duleep Trophy, but according to the report, both these Indian senior players will not play in the upcoming tournament. On this, Jai Shah said that there is a risk of Virat and Rohit getting injured and the team management also had to keep in mind the upcoming series against Australia and England.
