IPL 2025 Mega Auction Possible Unsold Players: IPL 2025 Mega Auction is to be held on 24-25 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ahead of the auction, all 10 teams have retained a total of 46 players and the competition has greatly increased with more than 1,500 players registering for the auction. Of these, only 204 players will be able to be sold in the auction. This means that the number of players who remain unsold will be much more than the players who are sold. So let us know about those big players, who got salary worth crores of rupees for playing last season, but they can go unsold this time.
1. Alzarri Joseph
West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph is wreaking havoc with his pace in international cricket. But only 21 wickets in 22 matches of IPL and economy rate of 9.55, it is like an alarm bell for them in the mega auction. Last season, he could play only 3 matches for RCB, in which he took only one wicket. Due to lack of consistency in performance and frequent injuries, hardly any franchise would want to invest their money in him in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He received Rs 11.50 crore for playing in IPL in 2024.
2. Spencer Johnson
Australia’s Spencer Johnson came into the news for his speed. He made his IPL debut in 2024 playing for Gujarat Titans, where he could take only 4 wickets in five matches. This year Johnson has been able to play only 5 T20 matches for Australia, in which he could take only 6 wickets. Due to continuous failure, he may have to lose his IPL contract this time too. He got Rs 10 crore for playing the last season.
3. Riley Russo
Riley Rousseau of South Africa, who has scored more than 9 thousand runs in his T20 career. He played for RCB in 2014-2015, but while playing for Punjab Kings, Rousseau could not prove to be a trump card in IPL 2024. He scored 211 runs in 8 matches for Punjab last season. He got Rs 8 crore for playing last season, but looking at his recent performance, there seems to be very little possibility that any team will bet on Rousseau this time.
4. Jhay Richardson
Australian fast bowler Jhay Richardson was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 5 crore in the IPL 2024 auction. Due to injury in the last season, he could play only one match. His international statistics are also not very good. Richardson has good bowling figures in Australia, hence he has been consistently taking a lot of wickets in the Big Bash League. But due to not being able to take wickets on Indian pitches, Richardson may not be bought by any franchise this time.
5. David Wiley
England fast bowler David Willey was to play for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024, but due to personal reasons he withdrew his name from the season. Especially under the new rules of BCCI, foreign players may be penalized. So far David has been able to take only 6 wickets in 11 matches of IPL. He was to get Rs 2 crore from LSG for playing the last season.
