He won the gold by throwing the javelin 70.59 meters in the Men’s F64 category and also broke the Paralympic record. Sumit had set a new record by covering a distance of 69.11 meters in his first attempt. But when Sumit threw the javelin for the second time, this time it fell 70.59 meters away. Sumit has achieved the feat of breaking the Paralympic record twice in the same match.
