Year Ender 2024: The year 2024 is at its last stage. This year, many shocking films were released in theaters from Bollywood to South. Shocking means those films which have collected more than was ever thought possible.
Now this surprising thing fits on both positive collection and negative collection. Just like no one had thought about Stree 2 that it would become such a big blockbuster and no one had thought about Indian 2 that it would prove to be such a disaster.
Akshay Kumar surprised the most!
This shocking thing also applies to Akshay Kumar. On whom the makers spent several hundred crores this year and not a single film of his was a hit. All of them flopped. Leave aside the flops, everything proved to be a disaster and the brand value of the name Akshay Kumar did not work.

Akshay Kumar had three films released this year. The first film was the big budget ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’. Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff were paired in this film. Both are big action heroes and the film was made by Sajid Nadiadwala, the maker of films like Baaghi. This raised hopes that Bollywood is going to get a new blockbuster. Rs 350 crores were invested in the film and the film was heavily promoted, but as soon as it reached the box office, the film bombed and according to Sacknilk, it was able to extract only Rs 65.96 crores. - After this, Akshay Kumar’s another big film ‘Sarfira’ came, which was released on July 12. Everyone had high expectations from the film because it was the official remake of South superstar Surya’s superhit film ‘Soorarai Pottru’. According to Indian Express, the makers had invested a budget of around Rs 100 crore in the film, but the film earned only Rs 24.85 crore.
- After this, Akshay Kumar’s last film of the year came named ‘Khel Khel Mein’. When the film came on Netflix, it was on top in terms of viewership, but could not do any wonders at the box office. The film also had to suffer the loss of being released along with Stree 2 on 15th August and the film did a business of only Rs 39.29 crores, while its budget was also Rs 100 crores according to Koimoi.
Makers suffered a loss of 77%!
Overall, the makers bet about Rs 550 crores on Akshay Kumar, in return they got back only Rs 130.1 crores including the collection of all three films. That means only 23.63 percent of the money was returned to the makers. Forget about earning, Akshay Kumar’s films lost almost 77 percent of the makers’ money.
Akshay Kumar’s future strategy
Akshay Kumar is considered to be an expert player in acting. He is also called the King of Bollywood. There are millions of fans of his comic timing and action. This year was not very good for him, but next year he is going to be seen in films like Hera Pheri 3, Bhoot Bangla and Housefull 5, from which people have high expectations.
Apart from this, after his cameo in Singham Again and Stree 2, it has also become clear that he will be seen playing important roles in two big films of two different universes. So it would not be wrong to say that Akshay Kumar is going to get his hit machine title back very soon.
