WTC Points Table India: The Indian team is on its way to play its third consecutive World Test Championship final. In the latest update released by the ICC, India remains on top. At the same time, after whitewashing the West Indies 3-0, England has also benefited, which is currently in sixth place. After India, Australia currently holds the second position and there are high chances that the final can be played between these two teams in 2025.
India needs only 5 wins?
Let us tell you that India has so far played in the World Test Championship finals in 2021 and 2023, but both times it has faced disappointment. It is also worth noting that Team India has to play the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with Australia at the end of 2024, in which victory can almost ensure India’s place in the final. To secure a place in the final, Team India needs only 5 wins out of the remaining 10 matches.
Before the final of the World Test Championship, India’s first series will be against Bangladesh. 2 Test matches are to be played between the two teams in the month of September. After that, the New Zealand team will tour India in October-November, where 3 Test matches are to be played between the two teams. Team India’s last series before the World Test Championship will be against Australia. India will go on an Australian tour in December-January where it has to play 5 Test matches. On the other hand, the situation is difficult for Australia as it has to win 4 out of its remaining 7 matches to secure a place in the final.
India has played 2 finals
