Wriddhiman Saha Retirement Decision Change: Indian cricket team’s experienced wicketkeeper batsman Wriddiman Saha had announced his retirement four days ago i.e. on 03 November. Now Saha had said through social media that this will be his last Ranji season (2024-25), in which he is playing for Bengal. Now Saha told how he had changed his decision of retirement on the advice of former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly.
Let us tell you that Saha played first class cricket for Tripura for the last two years and after playing for Tripura last season, he was completely ready to retire. “I wouldn’t have played this year, but Sourav Ganguly and my wife inspired me to play for Bengal after two seasons with Tripura and finish with them,” Saha was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Shah agreed to play, but made it clear that he would participate in domestic cricket only in the red ball format. Shah had taken this decision considering his physical limitations and with the intention of giving opportunities to young players. Shah had also informed Gujarat Titans that he will not play IPL to focus on Ranji Trophy.
Desire to play last match at Eden Gardens
Shah said that if the Bengal team qualifies, he will play till the end, otherwise he will end his career at Eden Garden.
Wriddiman Saha’s international career
It is noteworthy that Wriddiman Saha played 40 Tests and 09 ODIs in his career. In 56 innings of Test, he scored 1353 runs at an average of 29.41. During this period, he scored 3 centuries and 6 half-centuries, in which his high score was 117 runs. Apart from this, he scored 41 runs in five innings of ODI.
