INDW vs NEPW Women’s Asia Cup 2024: The Indian women’s team has scored 178 runs while playing first against Nepal. This is India’s last match in the group stage of Women’s Asia Cup 2024. Opener Shafali Verma scored the most runs for Team India, who played a blistering innings of 81 runs in 48 balls. Shafali, along with Dayalan Hemalatha, made an important contribution in taking India to a huge score by making an opening partnership of 122 runs. On the other hand, Sita Rana Magar took the most wickets for Nepal, she took 2 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs.
India won the toss and decided to bat first, which proved to be very good. Shefali Verma and Dayalan Hemalatha gave the team a great start. Both of them took the team’s score to 91 runs in the first 10 overs. Even after that, both of them batted aggressively and scored 23 runs in the next 3 overs. But in the 14th over, Hemalatha got out, who scored 47 runs in 42 balls. Just 9 balls after her, Shefali Verma also got stumped out while trying to play a big shot. Shefali hit 12 fours and a six in her 81-run innings.

After Hemalatha and Shefali were out, the run rate of Team India slowed down. Only 12 runs were scored in the 16th and 17th overs combined. But in the last 3 overs, India scored 35 runs and ended their innings at 178. In the last overs, Jemima Rodrigues played a cameo innings of 28 runs in 15 balls and took Team India past 170. Rodrigues hit 5 fours in her innings. Nepal’s bowlers were beaten so much that four out of seven bowlers conceded runs at an economy rate of more than 10. Sita Rana Magar took 2 wickets, while Kabita Joshi also managed to take one wicket.
