Sanjay Bangar Praises Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana: Women’s Asia Cup 2024 is being played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. In which the second match of Women’s Asia Cup 2024 was played between India and Pakistan. By winning this match, India was successful in making a great start in this tournament. In this match, Shefali Verma drew everyone’s attention by playing a brilliant innings. Along with this, Smriti Mandhana also played a tremendous innings. After which former Indian all-rounder Sanjay Bangar compared Shefali Verma to Virender Sehwag.

While analysing the match on Star Sports, Sanjay Bangar said, “Whenever I see Shefali batting, I remember Virender Sehwag. Her game completely demoralises the opposition team, just like Sehwag’s game used to do. She turns the match in her team’s favour in the first six overs itself.”
Sanjay Bangar also praised the technical aspect of Shefali’s batting. He said, “Shefali played many excellent shots. Especially her off-drive was very beautiful. It was a great shot, which shows that she is not only aggressive but can also play with good technique.”

Sanjay Bangar also discussed Smriti Mandhana’s innings. He said, “The best thing I liked about her batting was that she found the gaps very well. Even when the speed of the ball was low, she gave herself time and played many brilliant shots on the backfoot.”
Sanjay Bangar also praised Mandhana’s improvement in the on-side game. He said, “Mandhana played many good shots over the in-fielders. It seems that she has worked a lot on her on-side game, which was earlier weaker than her off-side game.”
Shefali and Smriti made a partnership of 85 runs
Shefali Verma scored 40 runs in 29 balls at a strike rate of 137.93, which included 6 fours and 1 six. She along with Smriti Mandhana shared a partnership of 85 runs in just 9.3 overs for the first wicket and put India in a strong position. Smriti Mandhana managed to score 45 runs in 31 balls at a strike rate of 145.16.
