1. Gap in having a child
According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, a major cause of secondary infertility is a gap of 5-8 years in having a second child. Due to this, the quality of eggs deteriorates and conception is not possible.

With increasing age in women, the quality and quantity of eggs decreases, which can cause problems in conceiving. Because of this, women may face many other problems during pregnancy.
3. Male infertility

4. Hormonal imbalance

1. Secondary infertility can be treated. Doctors find out its cause by doing many types of tests and treat it accordingly.
2. Fertility medications, such as clomiphene citrate, can help in the production of eggs. However, it should be used only after doctor’s advice.
3. In in vitro fertilization (IVF), an attempt is made to conceive by mixing eggs and sperm in the lab.
