Many districts of Uttar Pradesh have announced closure of schools for students due to the severe cold wave. In Bareilly, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar has ordered closure of all government, private and council schools from classes one to eight on Wednesday. Similarly, in Badaun, District Magistrate Nidhi Srivastava has directed to keep all schools up to class eight closed for two days on January 15 and 16. A similar order has been issued in Shahjahanpur and schools up to class 8th have been kept closed till January 16. Due to cold wave in Ghaziabad, DM Indra Vikram Singh has issued a notification to extend winter vacation for students of classes 1 to 8. Schools will remain closed for students till January 18. However, employees of educational institutions will come to school. This command UP Board will be applicable to all council and secondary schools affiliated to CBSE, ICSCE and other boards.

Winter vacation has been announced for all schools, which will last from January 1 to February 1, 2025.
