Will Jacks IPL 2025 Auction Mumbai Indians: There was pressure on Royal Challengers Bangalore to build a strong team in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Since RCB had retained Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal and Rajat Patidar, the Bengaluru team needed players who could play the role of finisher in batting apart from top order batting, middle order batting. There were speculations that RCB would play Right to Match (RTM card) on England’s ace batsman Will Jacques, but contrary to expectations, Bengaluru flatly refused.
Will Jacques had kept his base price at Rs 2 crore and the first bid on him was made by Mumbai Indians. Punjab Kings was ready to spend Rs 5 crore on Jacques but MI had made up its mind. Ultimately, Mumbai included this effective all-rounder from England in their squad by making a bid of Rs 5.25 crore.
RCB clearly denied
Royal Challengers Bangalore had the RTM card left and when the RCB management was asked about matching the bid of Rs 5.25 crore, they shook their heads in a clear ‘no’. Especially the fans of RCB are very angry with this decision. When Jacques was sold to Mumbai Indians, Akash Ambani got up from his chair and went to shake hands with the RCB management. Akash knew that Will Jacques was a match-changing player, who had scored 230 runs including one century and one half-century in 8 matches played in IPL 2024. Last season his strike rate was more than 175.
Fans also got angry
Since RCB did not use the RTM card on Will Jacques, fans have become disappointed with the RCB management. A fan said that the management of Bengaluru team is full of clowns. A fan said that while RCB bought MI’s Tim David, Mumbai settled the score by buying Bengaluru’s Will Jacques. Fans are expressing their displeasure on social media by making similar tweets.

Your only mistake was being too loyal to this ungrateful franchise. Sorry Will Jacks 💔 pic.twitter.com/8FJ8n8naU9
