Why was he not banned for one match?
Improper physical contact with another player is considered a Level 2 offense. Under a Level 2 offence, the culprit may receive 2 or 3 demerit points. A match ban can be imposed on a player only if he has received 4 demerit points within 24 months. If this happens, the player may have to face a ban of one or more matches. But Kohli has got only one demerit point.
