Prithvi Shaw achieved fame at a very young age. He soon joined Team India. At one time, glimpses of legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Brian Lara were seen in Prithvi Shaw.
Now such a time has come that he was not bought in the mega auction of IPL 2025. Shaw kept his base price at Rs 75 lakh, after which it was expected that some team would definitely buy him, but it did not happen.
Now Mohammad Kaif gave the reason for Shaw not being sold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Kaif was once a part of the coaching staff of Delhi Capitals.
Kaif said about Shaw, “At one time the team management had become very strict regarding Prithvi. There was also talk of dropping Shaw from the team, but just before the match, coach Ricky Ponting felt that Prithvi was the best of today’s team. If it works in the match, we will win.”
Kaif further said, “By doing this, he got many opportunities continuously, but Prithvi could not improve his game. It is not that Shaw does not have the ability to play well, but with time he could not pay attention to his fitness.
Then Mohammad Kaif further said, “Apart from this, there were many other things which affected his game and the result is in front of everyone. This is a matter of embarrassment for Prithvi Shaw.”
