Why Indian Students Visit Bangladesh: Every year a large number of students from India go abroad for studies. For this purpose, Indians also choose the neighboring country Bangladesh. In such a situation, if this question arises in your mind that if India has much better facilities than Bangladesh, then what do Indians study and why do they go to the neighboring country, then we will answer it. Most of the students from here go to Bangladesh to study MBBS.
Every year students go
Every year thousands of Indian students go to Bangladesh to study medicine. There are many reasons, but before moving ahead, let us know the estimated number of students who leave India and go to Bangladesh every year for MBBS. Talking about the year 2022, according to the data given by the Indian Government, 9308 candidates went from India to Bangladesh.
Out of these, 922 also participated in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. This means that they wanted to study abroad and practice in India. Roughly speaking, every year around 10 thousand Indian students go to neighboring countries for MBBS.
Why choose Bangladesh?
There are not just one but many reasons behind the elections in Bangladesh, the details of which we are giving here.
- The distance between Bangladesh and India is very less. Travelling here is cheaper as compared to other foreign lands.
- The cost of travelling from Kolkata to Dhaka by plane is around 5000, by road around 1500 and by train around 1200. Therefore, it becomes easy for the candidates to stay connected with the country despite studying abroad.
- There is not much difference between the culture here and there and if you know a little Bengali then it is even better. Most of the people living here are Muslims.
- The cost of MBBS education here is quite less as compared to private medical colleges in India. The duration of medical bachelor’s degree here is five years and the internship period is one year. The entire course including living expenses costs between 30 to 40 lakhs.
- There are less seats in India, so many times candidates who do not get admission here decide to do MBBS from neighboring countries. The eligibility for admission here is to pass 12th with at least 50 percent marks with PCB subjects and qualify NEET.
- After passing NEET, candidates get admission in MBBS in almost all foreign countries. The medium of study here is English, so Indian candidates are comfortable.
