Abha Khatua Excluded from Paris Olympics 2024: Now less than four days are left for the Paris Olympics 2024 starting from 26 July. In such a situation, Indian athletes are ready to leave for Paris. A total of 117 athletes from India are going to the Paris Olympics. Some of whom have been selected through “Road to Paris 2024”. One of these Indian athletes has qualified for the Olympics. But now her name is missing from the final confirmed list. She is Indian shotput player Abha Khatua.
What is the whole matter?
Everyone is surprised by the exclusion of Indian shot put player Abha Khatua from the Indian team for Paris Olympics 2024. Actually, Abha had qualified for the Olympics through the World Athletics Ranking and was ranked 21st in the “Road to Paris 2024” list. But, her name was missing in the last confirmed list released by World Athletics (WA) and then the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
Initially, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) had included Abha in its list of athletes participating in Paris. The AFI had announced a 30-member track and field team, but the final list now has only 29 members.
Abha, along with her teammates, left for Spala, Turkey, on July 11, where India’s Olympic contingent was practising. However, just a day later, her name was missing from the list of track and field participants published by World Athletics. This sudden change has raised many questions and concerns among fans and experts.
Why was Abha Khatua excluded from Olympics 2024?
According to reports, the reason for keeping Abha Khatua out of Paris Olympics 2024 could be DSD regulation. Sources say that World Athletics may have blocked her entry due to non-compliance with DSD. These rules have been made to control the participation of female athletes with naturally high testosterone levels in certain events.
