India Inflation Data: After retail inflation, wholesale inflation has also declined in the month of November. The wholesale inflation rate has come down to a three-month low of 1.89 percent in November 2024, which was 2.36 percent in October 2024. Last year, in November 2023, the wholesale based inflation rate was 0.39 percent.
Reduction in food inflation rate
Commerce Ministry has released wholesale price based inflation rate data. According to this data, wholesale inflation rate has come down to 1.89 percent in the month of November. Due to slowing down of the pace of increase in food prices, the wholesale inflation rate has declined. Food inflation rate was 8.92 percent in the month of November which was 11.6 percent in October 2024. The inflation rate of vegetable prices has increased at the rate of 28.57 percent, which had increased at the rate of 63 percent in October. The price of grains has increased at the rate of 7.81 percent in the month of November, which had increased at the rate of 7.9 percent in October.
Inflation of potatoes and eggs troubled
The inflation rate of potatoes was 82.79 percent in the month of November, which had increased at the rate of 78.73 percent in October. Onion inflation rate has come down to 2.85 percent in November which was 39.25 percent in October. Inflation of eggs, meat and fish has increased at the rate of 3.16 percent in November, which had increased at the rate of -0.52 percent in October. The inflation rate of fruits has come down. It was 8.41 percent in November which was 13.55 percent in October.
Retail inflation also decreased
Retail inflation figures were announced last week. Retail inflation rate has come down to 5.48 percent in November which was 6.21 percent in October. Food inflation rate has also decreased. Inflation is decreasing due to better production of Kharif crops and increase in arrival of vegetables in the market.
