ISRO: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and NASA are working on a joint mission. Under this mission, NASA will send an Indian scientist from ISRO to the International Space Station. Both these organizations will share their expertise in space research and will work together for experiments and research on the ISS. ISRO has selected its first astronaut for this mission.
Subhanshu Shukla will bring glory to India
ISRO has selected one astronaut from hundreds of astronauts and his name is Captain Subhansu Shukla. Subhansu Shukla has been selected by ISRO to go on the ISS mission on behalf of NASA. He has become the first Indian astronaut to go on the ISS mission on behalf of India. This is a big achievement for India.
This upcoming mission of ISRO is named Axiom Mission-4 {Axiom Mission-4 (Ax-4)}, for which Captain Subhanshu Shukla has been announced as the main astronaut. This is a joint mission of India and America, which will go to the International Space Station (ISS). This is a historic moment for India’s space program as Shukla will become the first Indian astronaut to go to the ISS.
Experience of Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla
Talking about the experience of Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla, he is currently serving as a fighter combat test pilot in the Indian Air Force. He has experience of flying more than 2000 hours on various aircraft including Sukhoi-30MKI, Mig-21, Mig-29.
According to reports, Shukla joined the armed forces after being inspired by stories of bravery during the 1999 Kargil War. He completed his higher education from Lucknow’s City Montessori School and then joined the National Defence Academy and joined the Indian Air Force in 2006.
However, talking about this joint ISS mission of ISRO and NASA, a deal was made between India and America in June 2023 itself, when the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi visited America. This will be a joint mission of India’s ISRO and America’s NASA. Now finally Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla has been selected as the chief astronaut for this mission. According to the report, this mission can be launched in October 2024.
