Even in the face of such a big incident at a very young age, Avni did not bow down and moved forward towards success by taking inspiration from her injury.
What does SH1 category mean
Avni Lekhara has won the gold medal in the SH1 category of shooting. SH1 category means those athletes whose hands cannot move accurately and their lower back cannot move properly. Or they have problems in the movement of their legs. She took inspiration from Abhinav Bindra, gold medal winner in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and chose shooting as a profession in the year 2015. Actually, it was Avni’s father who encouraged his daughter to come into sports.
Talking about Avni Lekhara’s education, she has obtained a law degree from the University of Rajasthan. On the other hand, she has also made world records at the junior and senior levels in professional shooting. Avni has been awarded the Padma Shri and Khel Ratna awards for her historic achievements.
