In an interview given to Film Companion, Salman Khan had revealed that his brother had left the sets of Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya on the very first day. He had said- Initially Sohail had left the set and refused to do the film. He said that this is a very different kind of comedy. Because of which director David Dhawan got upset.
Was going to approach Saif Ali Khan
Salman Khan told that David Dhawan was upset because the schedule of 20 days was packed. He had even thought of Saif Ali Khan’s name as replacement. In response to which Salman said- How can we bring Saif now. However, after some discussion, Sohail agreed to do this role.
