In response, the Indian team scored 336 runs in the first innings, due to which Australia took a lead of 33 runs over the Kangaroo team in the first innings. Host Australia scored 294 runs in the second innings, due to which Team India got the target of 328 runs in the fourth innings.

For the Indian team, which came to chase the target of 328 runs, Shubman Gill scored 91 runs and Cheteshwar Pujara also contributed 56 runs. But after the dismissal of these two, the Indian team lost wickets at regular intervals. Rishabh Pant took command from one end, who played an innings of 89 runs while batting in a stormy style and made an important contribution in India’s victory by 3 wickets. This was the first time in the last 28 years that a team had defeated Australia at the Gabba ground.
