WhatsApp has banned more than 85 lakh Indian WhatsApp accounts violating the policy in September. The company has disclosed this in its monthly report. The company has taken this step to increase the security of users and prevent misuse of the platform. Earlier in August, 84 lakh accounts were banned in India.
According to WhatsApp report. Between September 1 and September 30, WhatsApp has banned 85,84,000 accounts, of which 16,58,000 accounts were closed before receiving any reports from users. WhatsApp, which has more than 600 million users, received 8,161 complaints in the month of September, out of which action has been taken on 97.
Company responded to banning accounts
Regarding banning accounts, the company said, “We will maintain transparency in our work and will include information about our efforts in future reports. WhatsApp said, “We allow users to block any contacts within the app. Provides the facility to do and report. “We pay close attention to user feedback and join with experts to prevent misinformation, promote cybersecurity, and preserve election integrity.”
