Festive Season: With the beginning of October, the festive season has reached its peak. With the end of the festive season, the wedding season will begin in the country. About 48 lakh marriages are going to take place this year during November-December, 2024. About Rs 6 lakh crore will be spent on this. Indian economy and businessmen can benefit tremendously from this year’s wedding season. Businessmen hope that this time mostly Indian goods will be used in weddings.
Wedding season will start from November 12
The wedding season will start from November 12, 2024. According to a research by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), there can be a business of about Rs 5.9 lakh crore in the goods and services retail sector in the wedding season this year. Last year, due to about 35 lakh marriages, the total business was Rs 4.25 lakh crore. There were 11 auspicious times for marriages in the year 2023, which is 18 auspicious this year. This will also increase business. According to CAT, a business of Rs 1.5 lakh crore is estimated from 4.5 lakh marriages in Delhi alone this season.
These are the auspicious marriage dates of this year
According to Acharya Durgesh Tare, convener of Veda and Spiritual Committee of CAT, this year the wedding season will start from November 12, Dev Uthani Ekadashi and will continue till December 16. Auspicious dates in November are 12, 13, 17, 18, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, and 29, while in December they are 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 16. After this, the marriage programs will stop for about a month and will start again from mid-January to March 2025.
Demand for these things increases during wedding season
CAT’s National General Secretary and MP Praveen Khandelwal said that consumers are now giving priority to Indian goods. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Self-reliant India’ is gaining strength. CAT National President BC Bhartia said that during the wedding season, sales of things like clothes, sarees, lehengas, apparel, jewellery, electronics, electrical appliances, dry fruits, sweets, namkeens, groceries, vegetables and gifts increase. Apart from this, demand for banquet halls, hotels, wedding houses, event management, tent decoration, catering services, flower decoration, transport, cab service, photography, videography, orchestra, band, light and sound also increases.
