Vivah panchami 2024: The festival of Vivah Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha or Agahan month, which this year is today on 6 December 2024. This day is celebrated as the anniversary of Ram-Sita.
Mother Sita was married to Shri Ram of Ayodhya. Mother Sita’s father lived in Janakpur. Sita ji’s marriage also took place in Janakpur. Some part of Janakpur is in Bihar and some part is in Nepal. Therefore, both these places are currently called Sita ji’s maternal home.
Sita Ji’s Pehar and in-laws house in Ayodhya
But do you know that apart from Bihar and Nepal, Sita ji has another maternal house which is in Ayodhya itself. Yes, even though you may be surprised to know this, it is completely true. Sita ji’s in-laws house and Pehar are also in Ayodhya city. Let us know how Janora village of Ayodhya became Sita ji’s maternal home.
Janora village in Ayodhya was settled by King Janak, father of Mother Sita. He had settled this village by purchasing a plot of land near Ayodhya from King Dasharatha. Therefore, Janora village adjacent to Ayodhya is said to be the property of King Janak. King Janak also built a palace in Janora village. And also the temple of our beloved Lord Shiva.
For this reason Janaura village was established
In many episodes of Valmiki Ramayana, King Janak has been described as traditional and also conservative. But he got Sita ji married in Ayodhya. After 15 days, when his vice-chancellor advised Sita to send Kalewa, King Janak himself decided to go to Ayodhya with Kalaewa.
But the problem was that what would he eat and where would he stay for as long as he stayed in Ayodhya. Because in Sanatan Dharma, father does not even accept water in his daughter’s in-laws house. In such a situation, King Janak sent his messenger to Ayodhya and asked King Dasharatha to buy a plot of land in Ayodhya itself.
After this, a village was established in this plot outside Ayodhya city, which was named Janora. Then King Janak arrived with Kaleva for Sita ji and stayed in this village. According to the story narrated in Ramayana, when King Janak came to Ayodhya with Kaleva for Sita ji, he stayed in Janora village for about a long time. Even after this, whenever King Janak came to Ayodhya, he stayed here in his house built in Janora.
