Virat Kohli Training IND vs NZ 1st Test: The India-New Zealand three-Test series is starting from October 16 and the first match is to be played in Bengaluru. Before that match, Virat Kohli was seen giving tips to the net bowlers at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Kohli had returned to Mumbai from London a few days ago, after which he reached Bengaluru for the first match. Kohli has not been able to score a single half-century in Test matches this year, so all eyes will be on his performance in the series against New Zealand.
Before the start of the series against the Kiwi team, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has also expressed confidence in Kohli. He may not have been able to score much runs in the series against Bangladesh, but Gautam Gambhir says that he has full faith in Kohli and he still has the hunger for runs left in him. According to RevSportz, Kohli tried for about an hour in the nets. Apart from fast bowling, he also practiced against left-arm spin bowlers and off-spin bowling.
New Zealand’s squad also has Michael Bracewell, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner and Ajaz Patel, whose spinning ball can be very effective on Indian pitches. Till date, only one Test match has been played between India and New Zealand at Chinnaswamy Stadium, which took place about 12 years ago.
Kohli’s stats at Chinnaswamy Stadium
Virat Kohli has played four Test matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, in which he has scored 217 runs at an average of 43.40 in 6 innings. Kohli played his first match on this ground in 2012, in whose first and second innings he scored 103 runs and 51 runs respectively. But after that, his highest score in the four innings played at Chinnaswamy Stadium has been only 23 runs.
