ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule India: After several weeks of dispute between India and Pakistan over the hybrid model in the Champions Trophy, ICC has finally approved the schedule of the tournament. The Champions Trophy will start on 19 February and the final will be played on 9 March. If we look at the Indian team, it will start its campaign with a match against Bangladesh on 20th February. The good news for India is that till now the bats of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been roaring in the Champions Trophy.
On one side, there is Virat Kohli who has so far scored 529 runs in 13 matches in the history of Champions Trophy at an excellent average of 88.16. On the other hand, there is Rohit Sharma, who has played 10 matches in this tournament and scored 481 runs at an average of 53.44. Virat has not been able to play any century innings in this tournament till now, but has definitely scored five fifties. On the other hand, Rohit has so far scored one century and 4 fifties. If we remember the 2017 Champions Trophy, Kohli had scored 258 runs in 5 matches at an incredible average of 129. Whereas Rohit Sharma was the highest run scorer in the tournament by scoring 304 runs.
India’s problems may increase
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma may have been scoring runs in the Champions Trophy, but their recent form has not been very good. On one side there is Kohli who has been able to score only 58 runs in 3 ODI innings this year. On the other hand, captain Rohit is getting the start but he has failed to convert the good start into big innings.
Team India’s difficulties may also increase because there are two world class teams like New Zealand and Pakistan in its group. At the same time, Bangladesh is also capable of causing a big upset. Especially in the 50-over format, Pakistan is in great form as it has won 5 consecutive ODI series. In such a situation, it has become very important for Virat and Rohit to participate in the upcoming tournament.
