Crisil Report: There is a relief news for you on the inflation front. The price of veg and non-veg thali has become cheaper now. According to the Crisil report, the soft prices of tomatoes in the month of August have made not only veg but also non-veg thali cheaper. On an annual basis, the rate of veg thali has fallen by about 8 percent and the rate of non-veg thali has fallen by 12 percent. In July, the vegetarian food thali became 11 percent more expensive than June and the non-veg thali also saw a 6 percent increase. The increased price of tomatoes had troubled people in July.
Veg thali costs Rs 31.2 and non-veg thali costs Rs 59.3
According to the Crisil report, the price of Veg Thali has come down to Rs 31.2 in August. It was Rs 34 in August 2023. Non Veg Thali has come down to Rs 59.3 in August, which was Rs 67.5 a year ago. According to the Roti Rice Rate Index of Crisil Market Intelligence and Analysis, Veg Thali was Rs 32.6 in July and Rs 29.4 per plate in June. The price of non-veg thali was also Rs 61.4. Its rate was Rs 58 in June. Chicken is included in non-veg thali instead of lentils.
Prices of tomatoes, edible oil and spices reduced
According to the Roti Rice Rate Index of Crisil Market Intelligence and Analysis, the prices of tomatoes, edible oil and spices have come down in August 2024. People have got relief due to the low price of petrol and diesel and cheap rates of chicken, mutton and fish. Tomato contributes 14 percent to the price of veg thali. In August, the price of tomato has gone up to Rs 50 per kg. A year ago, this price was Rs 102. In July 2024, the price of tomato was Rs 66 and in June it was Rs 42 per kg. In the veg thali, apart from onion, tomato and potato among vegetables, rice, dal, curd and salad are included.
Potato and onion prices are rising
The public is relieved with the cheaper prices of LPG cylinders. The prices of edible oil have fallen by about 6 percent, chilli by 30 percent and cumin by 58 percent. The prices of chicken, mutton and fish have also fallen by 13 percent. These items contribute 50 percent to the price of a non-veg thali. Veg thali has become cheaper by 4 percent and non-veg thali by 3 percent as compared to July. However, the prices of potato and onion have increased in August.
