Credit card UPI payment: Transactions are going on continuously through Unified Payments Interface i.e. UPI. In December 2024, the number of UPI transactions reached a record high of 16.73 billion. This was 8 percent more than the figure of 15.48 billion UPI transactions in November.
Seeing the increasing popularity of UPI, now credit card users are also choosing the option of digital payment for purchasing. Using credit card during UPI payment is very easy. Let us see how to use credit card for UPI payment. For this, first link the credit card with UPI.

First download the UPI app. If you are using UPI for the first time, it would be best to install Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) for credit card payments. Now open the app and go to ‘add payment method’ section. Select the credit card option and enter your credit card number, CVV and expiry date. After this an OTP will come on your registered mobile number.
After linking the credit card account, now create UPI ID from your credit card. With this ID linked to your bank account, you will be able to make or receive payment through UPI. To check your UPI ID, go to the profile section in the app and select UPI ID.
How to make credit card payment through UPI
To make UPI payment through credit card, first scan the QR code or select the option of ‘pay phone number’ or ‘pay contacts’ and enter your UPI ID or go to the related payment option on the app. If you want, you can also choose the option of ‘self-transfer’, through which you will be able to transfer money from one account to another. After verifying the QR code and phone number of the app, enter the amount to be transferred and select the credit card option for payment. Now your payment will be successful only after entering the PIN.
