India Budget 2024 LIVE: The day of the General Budget 2024-25 for the financial year 2024-25 has arrived. Today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget of the Government of India in the Parliament of the country at 11 am and will give a gift to the public from her budget box. The Finance Minister presented the Economic Survey on Monday, the first day of the monsoon session. In the Economic Survey, the government has said that the country’s GDP is expected to be between 6.5-7 percent in the financial year 2024-25.
Common public’s call, government should reduce tax burden in the budget
The government has already told in the Lok Sabha that the country’s internal debt has increased in the last 10 years. The country’s internal debt figure has now crossed 55 percent of GDP, which was 48.8 percent in 2013-14. The government’s own data shows that the share of the salaried class in the country’s total direct tax is more than the share coming from the corporate sector. It is clear that the salaried class or the middle class has a heavy tax burden, and people’s patience is running out to reduce it. The Finance Minister should either change the tax slab or reduce the tax rates – this is the demand of the common people.
Question of jobs, employment – what answer will the Finance Minister give?
Ever since Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has taken over as the Finance Minister of the country, the question of employment has been one of the biggest challenges before her. The youth of the country need jobs and employment and they have been waiting for this for a long time. Even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently said that employment has increased in the country during the 10 years of the NDA government at the Center, but it does not seem to be enough. India’s unemployment rate is a topic that can be called a burning issue because there is a scramble for jobs everywhere. Everyone’s attention is on what magic wand the Finance Minister waves to overcome this challenge.
