Umesh Yadav on Gautam Gambhir: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has won the IPL title thrice in the Indian Premier League. KKR became champion for the first time in 2012 and second time in 2014 under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir, for which many people give credit to his aggressive captaincy. Kolkata also won the title of IPL 2024. Gambhir has often been criticized that he takes credit for making KKR the champion in 2024, since he was the mentor of the Kolkata team in 2024. But Umesh Yadav has reacted to all these claims.
According to Inside Sport, Umesh Yadav said, “I have not heard any such interview that Gautam Gambhir took credit for making KKR the champion in 2014. I don’t watch that much news, but I believe that what I saw with my own eyes. And I believe what I heard with my ears and not what others said. I believe that it is very bad to believe that someone said something and you accepted it.”
