8 rooms have been made in the drug consumption room of Glasgow. These rooms will be open 365 days a year and will welcome customers. According to BBC report, these special rooms made for drug consumption will remain open from 9 am to 9 pm. The special thing is that nursing staff will also be present here to give drug doses to the addicts. It is under his supervision that injections of illegally purchased heroin or cocaine will be given.

Using drugs is a crime in the UK, but there will be no prosecution for taking drugs inside these special rooms in Glasgow. In fact, Scotland’s senior prosecutor, Lord Advocate, has announced changes in the law. This means users will not be prosecuted for possessing or using illegal drugs while at the facility.
Why was this done?
In fact, around 400 to 500 people in Glasgow regularly inject drugs in public places. In such a situation, the purpose of this special facility is to reduce drug overdose and the harm caused by it.
