According to statistics, between 1975 and 2014, about 4,000 university pass-outs appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and after passing, were selected in central services like IAS and IPS.

Even within Delhi University, youth consider Miranda House, St. Stephen’s, Lady Shri Ram Shri Ram College of Commerce, Gaadi College and Kamala Nehru College as big centers for UPSC preparation. According to some media reports, 5 out of the top 20 candidates in the UPSC Civil Services Exam of 2020 alone were passed out from Delhi University. Recently, Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Tina Dabi and her younger sister, who secured All India 15th rank in 2020, were in the news on social media. Both the sisters have passed out from Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University.
